Description
Seguin is recognized for having the highest manufacturing jobs per capita in the state of Texas, with almost twice the national average manufacturing jobs. Seguin is home to Caterpillar, Cavco Industries, Alamo Industrial, Continental Automotive Systems, Tyson Foods, CMC Steel Texas, Minigrip, Star Manufacturing and Hexcel Corp. just to name a few.
The Seguin Economic Development Corporation works with existing companies to retain them in our community. Recently, the SEDC worked with Continental Automotive Systems on a Business Retention and Expansion effort that totaled $18.5 million in capital investment and brought 600 more jobs to their plant. The project was recognized for being Texas largest job retention and expansion in 2009.
Furthermore, Seguin has existing infrastructure to allow for future growth. Through the Schertz-Seguin Local Government Cooperative, the City of Seguin has enough water supply to meet growing demand for generations to come. Seguin has extended its utilities over the last few years, bringing water, electric and sewer to areas ready for future development.
