Houston is a sprawling metropolis that tests the outer limits of the word "sprawling." Encompassing 600 square miles and housing more than 2 million people, Houston is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States, meaning that this multi-faceted city holds a little something for most everyone (snow enthusiasts excluded).
From Space Center Houston, home to NASA's Mission Control, to Battleship Texas, the last battleship to fight in both World Wars, to the Beer Can House, made of more than 50,000 beer cans, to the Downtown Aquarium, which features 500,000 gallons of aquatic fun, to the Downtown Tunnel System, which helps locals and tourists beat the oppressive summer heat with its 7.5 miles of shops located 20 feet below ground, Houston obviously cannot be associated with any one thing, though its medical facilities are world class.
And in a state that has produced many of the greatest golfers of all time, it should not surprise golfers that Houston is home to plenty of solid courses and plenty of courses that help facilitate game-improvement.
